The Westminster Desk is Trending Sheet's straight political reporting strand. The method is simple and unusual: we read the document first. Hansard, gov.uk releases, Electoral Commission filings, committee reports, published rulings. Then we write, fast, with every claim about a named person attributed and linked, responses quoted, and the difference between an inquiry, a finding and a conviction always labelled.
The desk runs two to three pieces a day in three shapes: the Brief, for what just happened and what the receipts show; the Document Read, for what the paperwork actually says versus what the press release claimed; and Trackers, living reference pages updated as stories develop.
Corrections are published prominently, quickly, and without drama. Our sister desk, Comment & Analysis (Intergalactic), handles the jokes; nothing on this desk is one.
