Date calculator

Choose an end date to see the number of days.

How the days are counted

The number of days between two dates is the count from the start date up to the end date, without counting the end date itself. The same period is also shown in weeks and days, and in calendar years, months and days. Leap years are taken into account, so a period that includes 29 February is one day longer.

To find a date in the future or the past, choose "Add or subtract", enter a start date and the number of days, weeks, months or years. The result shows the date and the day of the week it falls on.

Does the count include the start date and the end date?

The start date is counted and the end date is not, so Monday to the following Monday is 7 days. Tick "Include the end date" to count both, which gives 8 days for the same dates. That option suits periods where the first and the last day both count, such as the length of a trip.

Which days count as working days?

Working days are Monday to Friday. Public holidays are not taken out, because they differ between countries and regions, so subtract any that fall within your dates.

What happens when I add a month to the 31st?

Where the resulting month is shorter, the last day of that month is used. One month after 31 January is 28 February, or 29 February in a leap year.
